Context:

In this case study, the research focus is on process development, laser development and production engineering.

The researcher works with data coming from measurements and simulations, mostly in cooperation with industrial partners.

Insight:

The researcher stresses the importance of the industry sector in his/her work and the high level of confidentiality this involves. Data types mostly cover measurement data, simulation and calculation data as well as code with a volume of ~ 500 GB per scientist and project.

In this case study, the data is only published as a graph within a publication.

Highlight:

“If it [data sharing] is needed to get the project funded it will be done. Otherwise no one will do it.”
